5 Big Lies Your Mind Feeds You Everyday

Your mind is the biggest liar you will ever come across.

Mind lies because it’s the simple way out from complications.

Lying feeds, the fear inside us. And do you know what is the biggest fear inside us? It’s “fear of failure” with every single lie the fear inside us becomes stronger.

You will be a winner or a loser! It’s decided by what you think and your approach towards it.

Your mind is that intangible abstract world which is full of thoughts, feelings, ideas that controls your actions.

But frequently these captivating false signals will hold you back in the position where you are and will never let you take a step forward.

Whether you admit or not but these are the lies which your mind says to you, which have complete command over your actions. And you need to conquer them to carry out great changes in your life.

1. My Life Is Harder Than Everyone Else Out There

This one is the biggest excuse people use to give up by assuming that they are in the worst condition.

There are billions of people out there who are trying to cope with their problems every day.

Look around and anyone you see has their own demons to deal with.

And that simply is life.

You just have to deal with it doing nothing and complaining is not going to help.

You might have never ventured far down enough, or never been in a difficult situation in life and you just want to stay in your comfort zone.

Maybe any obstacle that comes your way seems big enough that you resolve to quit.

But I got news for you: you keep that up and you can never go anywhere in life.

Face the world.

Face your fears.

Face yourself.

The only thing worth quitting is the habit of giving up.

“Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.”

Charles R. Swindoll

2. I Don’t Have Enough Time

What you think the rich and successful people get 30hrs a day?

No, everyone in this world has 24hrs in a day.

You have to do whatever it takes in this time to make your day productive.

It’s all about how you are spending it, whether you are stalking on your crush’s new pic for 100th time on social media or binging on ‘beginner to advanced’ courses online.

Don’t go to bed at night until you feel like you have learned something new or achieved something.

Just, stop complaining and wasting time on worthless stuff.

Pick up a hobby you are good at and if you are not good at it, get good at it. Keep yourself engaged don’t just sit around doing nothing.

If you wait for right time to start that’s never going to come because “right time to start something” is a myth.

The right time is now.

Wasting time is not good for your confidence either.

“The time is always right to do what is right.”

Martin Luther King, Jr.

3. It Won’t Work, I Already Tried Once

It is impossible to live without ever failing at something in life.

There are very few things out there which one can accomplish with one try.

I say trying, again and again, is what that brings you success.

Did you ever tried to figure out why it didn’t work in first place?

Did you?

It’s a big no for most people out there.

You must have done something wrong, there was something missing, something wasn’t right and that was the reason you failed.

Instead of stop trying and giving up figure the reason you failed in first place.

Your failure at something shouldn’t be an excuse to give up! Instead, use that failure to learn and don’t make that mistake again.

There is a very famous line “Winners are losers who got up and gave it one more try”.

Without failure, we would be less capable of compassion and kindness. After all, it’s the failure that gives success its real value. So, don’t be afraid of trying again….and again.

“Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.”

Henry Ford

4. Just Do It For The Last Time

Ever came across any situation where you thought “This is the last time i am going to do this” and did that?

Was that the last time?

Obviously NO!

Many times we do things by telling ourselves that we are doing it for the last time. Thinking like this and doing something is completely an act of stupidity.

Doing stuff assuming “just once” is completely fine but the bitter truth is that rarely works out for the best.

Once you have done something by assuming that you are doing it for the last time then your mind will try to pull more stuff by giving you the same excuse.

In real time doing things by saying “just once” doesn’t work.

This will increase your potential of doing wrong things again and again and again. Condition your brain to stop making decisions by thinking “just last time”

“People just make stupid mistakes. And they keep making them and keep making them, and suddenly they can’t dig themselves out.”

Karin Slaughter

5. Life should Be Enjoyed More And Live It The Way It Is

There’s a lot of bullshit going out there, people saying enjoy your life you just live once Blah! Blah!

I am not saying life shouldn’t be enjoyed but to a limit.

You must be smart enough to distinguish between a lazy unproductive way of enjoying life and the active productive way of living it.

Because sometimes enjoying life makes you lazy and will justify all your lazy behaviors like sitting the whole day on your couch and eating Nutella spread or spending ten hours scrolling your Facebook feed.

It just says that your time isn’t valuable.

And you will never feel like coming out of your shell. Because, you will be living in an illusion that “you are enjoying life”.

Living and enjoying life like this could be a grave mistake.

  • I think as humans, we have that same tape playing over and over in our heads and sometimes, it’s easy to give in to the negative self-talk. It takes a lot of awareness to get past those lies we tell ourselves, but it’s worth working towards. Great post!

  • Our minds are really horrible to us… I tend to get the lies, “You’re ugly…you’re not good enough…why even try…” going through my head at times. It’s hard, but I need to remember that those are lies. Thank you for your post.

  • This is such an awesome read! I love that you mentioned “I don’t have enough time”, because I used to think that way before and guess what, I never had enough time to finish the work. Subconscious mind is strong(er), that if we keep negative stuff on our mind, it could be very dangerous.

  • Yeah “just once” got to be the biggest lie my mind tells me. Like, I can literally do something I know I shouldn’t be doing and I convince myself I won’t do it again.. And when I find myself doing it again I don’t even have put an effort to tell myself a different lie… lol weird right? Thanks for sharing now I know if I tell myself it’s the last time it’s a trap…

  • This is very true, that your mind will tell you all kinds of lies, especially if you dwell on them and let them stew. It is important to push past them and to purposely think positive and ‘know you can’ and thus work to succeed. Thanks for sharing!

  • I truly enjoyed reading this post. I find “intrusive thoughts” to be one of the most debilitating things to productivity. I’m reading a book on “Mindfulness” (meditation) to help eliminate thoughts of negativity and living in the now.

  • i was just thinking about this the other day. People who say just enjoy life don’t really know my life. It’s a balance in my opinion, there are days to enjoy and others to work.

  • Ugh yes, you are so right! I am guilty of always saying I have no time too, but things change so drastically after we have a baby and we are still trying to find a balance.

  • All of these are so true but I also think it has a lot to do with personality. Not everyone thinks that way. I know I have heard friends say these things but I know others that do not think that way at all.

  • Such an eye-opening post! I agree with every part of it, especially the part about trying once then giving up. You should always try harder if you fail. Thanks for sharing! 🙂

  • This is very true! We don’t let our mind control everything because sometimes over thinking is not to good for our self. We need to know how we can manage our times to do things in life. Thanks for sharing
